My Secret Mommy Wish
I have a secret wish. I wish for a room within the house that is invisible to all people but me. When I am in there nobody can find me, or hear me or come looking for me. This room is mine, all mine for an undisturbed time-out. Of course this room is the bathroom. It would have a large jacuzzi tub, lots of candles, bubble bath and a glass of wine. It's soundproof so I can't hear anything but music and they can't hear me. Sound good?
I wished this wish after I came home from work and was forced to use the potty with my daughter on my lap because she just couldn't be put down on the ground for 45 seconds without crying her little eyes out. That morning I couldn't apply makeup in the mirror without her because now she can "chase" me and track me down. Getting mascara on with one hand while batting away your curious toddler's is a bit of a challenge. But she is not the only one!
My husband has always had a sixth sense for when I have snuck off to that room. I hear him down that hall, "honey.....what are you doing in there?" This happens every time I go to the bathroom. Does he want an itinerary? or perhaps a play-by-play? When he's in the bathroom I steer clear and I certainly don't ask for a report when it's over.
Even my dogs are guilty of tripping the "rude" wire. Bleu will like the bubbles out of my bath until I'm sure she should be sick and Chili wants to lick my underwear, which is very insulting.
If I ever get to build my own bath I'll be sure to sneak my idea into the blue prints. Who's which me?!?
