Poo, poo everywhere

Okay, fair warning, this is a gross topic. If you are squirmy on the subject, please read no further!
This week we have a construction crew at the house to build a new concrete patio and fire pit. Since Clint and I won't be able to leave the house for several years thanks to our wonderful new additions, we might as well enjoy the Casa de Wood as much as possible.

The dogs can't be outside while the work is being done so we moved them to the basement for the week. Even though we took them both outside for a walk to do their business, Bleu still made two huge piles downstairs. Okay, at least they were easy to clean up and Chili did not eat them (which he usually does). Not a good start to the day, but not entirely unexpected either.

Later, I was upstairs in the bathroom with the door wide open sitting on the potty with a magazine when one of the construction crew walks right in. Damn, that was embarrassing. Nobody told me they would just wonder in to use the bathroom. Oddly, that was the first, and last time any of them came into the house. Grrr, what poor timing!

To top of the day, we were having some problems with Addy as a result of potty training all weekend. She did great in her underpants and only had one accident, but she held in her poop all weekend....and Monday...and Tuesday. I talked with the pediatrician Tuesday who suggested fiber going forward and a glycerin laxative immediately to clear the blockage. What fun. After confirming with her daycare that she had not pooped all day Tuesday I proceeded to insert the glycerin suppository into my little girls bottom all the while telling her it would make her feel better. She screamed and cried and I felt like a bad mommy for "violating" her. It did work though. Five minutes later she pooped that rock out and then she pooped again. Clog removed.
How fitting to begin and end your day the same way....with poop.
The joys of parenthood!
